Frequently asked questions
How is my daily score calculated?
Each pillar (Health, Wealth and Relationships) gets a percentage: the habits you completed that day divided by the habits you planned. Your overall score is the average of the three pillars. A pillar with no habits that day is left out, so it doesn't pull your score down.
What does "Optional" mean?
Optional habits can be logged and keep their own streak, but they don't count toward your daily score or your perfect-day streak. Use them for nice-to-haves.
How do I log a habit with an exact amount or time?
The round button on the right of a habit is a quick action: it checks the habit off, adds a step of progress (for example 1,000 steps or 5 minutes), or marks a bedtime habit as done now. Tap anywhere else on the habit to enter an exact amount or time.
My bedtime habit says "Late". Why?
A time-of-day habit is done when you mark it at or before its deadline. If you log it after the deadline, including after midnight, it is recorded as late. Tap the habit to correct the time if you forgot to log it on time.
Can I fix a day in the past?
Yes. Go to Progress › Calendar, tap the day, then tap a habit to change what you logged.
How do streaks work?
A habit's streak is the number of days in a row you've completed it. Today doesn't break your streak while the day is still in progress. A perfect day is a day when every non-optional habit is done.
What's the difference between archiving and deleting a habit?
Archiving hides a habit and stops it counting from today on, but keeps its history in your charts. Deleting removes the habit and all of its history. Swipe left on a habit in the Habits tab to do either.
How do I change the app's colors?
Go to Profile › Theme and pick a theme. You can also choose Light, Dark or System appearance there.
I'm not getting reminders.
Open the iPhone Settings app › Notifications › Self-Preservation and make sure notifications are allowed. Then check that the reminder is turned on for that habit (edit the habit) or that Daily check-in is on in Profile.
Is my data backed up?
Your habits are stored only on your iPhone. They are included in your iPhone's iCloud or computer backup, so restoring a backup restores your habits. There is no separate account or cloud sync.
How do I delete my data?
Go to Profile › Erase all data. Deleting the app also removes all of its data from your iPhone.
